Dutch DJs Lucas & Steve join forces in 2010 and quickly start to impress the scene with their productions. With music getting released on labels like Spinnin’ Records, Armada Music, Zulu Records, Hotfingers, and Be Yourself Music, their triumphal march through nowadays house music is getting more impressive by the day.
After releasing some early singles, Lucas & Steve kick off 2014 with a first milestone when they deliver a remix of Red Carpet’s hit ‘Alright’, which holds the #1 spot at Beatport for almost three weeks. Also Lucas & Steve’s remix on Ruffneck’s dance classic ‘Everybody Be Somebody’ hits the Beatport main chart hard at #4 and remains in the top 10 for over five months!
Things are getting in motion. Their tunes receive wide support from DJs like Tiësto, Chuckie, Fedde Le Grand, Oliver Heldens, Martin Garrix, Sander Van Doorn, Pete Tong, Armin van Buuren, Avicii, Afrojack, Danny Howard, MK, Roger Sanchez, Umek, and many more. December 2014, Lucas & Steve score a big tune with ‘Blinded’, released on Spinnin’ Deep.
The star of Lucas & Steve is getting brighter, leading them to sign an exclusive deal with world famous label Spinnin’ Records and MusicAllStars Management by the end of 2014. It’s a new chapter for the guys, underlined when they remix 2005 dance classic ‘Do It 2 Nite’, again moving up in the charts (almost effortlessly reaching #3 on Beatport’s Top 100) while gaining loads of DJ support, including Danny Howard (BBC Radio), Martin Garrix, Afrojack, and Oliver Heldens.
It’s 2015, and the duo is part of a new generation of fresh, aspiring house producers. Records like ‘You And I Know’ and ‘Calinda 2K15’ turn into massive summer festival crowd pleasers. Meanwhile, the guys are playing loads of festivals, including Creamfields, Sziget and EMF Music Festival (FR) and make their Ibiza debut, playing alongside Avicii & Martin Garrix at Ushuaïa.
October 2015 sees Lucas & Steve release a much acclaimed remix of ‘Eagle Eyes’ by Felix Jaehn feat. Lost Frequencies & Linying. It’s another straight up club hit, flying up the Beatport charts where it stays in the main Top 10 for over a month, getting played by house tastemakers like Robin Schulz, Sam Feldt, The Magician, EDX, and Bakermat. This is followed by their late 2015 release ‘Love Is My Game’, a remake of the classic Dr. Kucho! & Gregor Salto tune, which rises to the top of the charts just as fast.
It’s a definite sign of Lucas & Steve’s continuing journey through house music. Nevertheless they’ll always stay true to their trademark elements, as they explain themselves. “Our sound will keep on evolving, that’s for sure, but our tracks will always be recognized by their uplifting melodies, sweet harmonics and maximum energy. Our aim is to make the world familiar with the sound that we create and that we love – and get some parties going while we’re at it!”
